For admissions to the science and arts colleges in India, the lowest average cut off marks is generally 50% to 55%. In many colleges students are required to sit for an entrance test, particular for admissions to the honors degree courses. Short listed candidates are then called for a personal interview. Some colleges in India do no conduct any entrance test and select students on the basis of their 10+2 marks.
