Ratan Tata’s successor may not be from India
We are skeptical about whether or not the world will end in 2012. But we do know that an era will come to a conclusion for the Tata group in the most talked about year. Ratan Tata, the seventy one year old Chairman of the Tata Group will be making way for a successor in 2012. To add to the level of interest is the news that the new specter bearer may be an expatriate. Roll up your sleeves NRI magnates.
"Now we are in the process of formalizing a successor to me. We have some foreign consultants and a formal search process is on. There are no constraints. It would certainly be simple if that candidate was an Indian national. But now that 65 percent of our revenues come from abroad, there could also be an expatriate sitting in that position with justification" ," said Tata, who has been leading the group for nearly two decades.>>
